Research with victims of sexual abuse and violence
Here you will find what the Department is doing in relation to victims of sexual abuse and violence.
Overview
As part of its five-year victim and witness strategy, the Department of Justice has undertaken research into the criminal justice experiences of victims of sexual abuse and violence. The research involved 12 interviews, which were then analysed. Having considered the research findings the Department, in conjunction with our criminal justice system and voluntary sector partners has prepared a response paper and action plan setting out the position on the issues raised during the research and the actions to be taken to improve the services provided to victims of sexual abuse and violence.
