Interim report on the review of the implementation of the Welfare of Animals Act NI 2011

Following the adoption of a Private Members’ Motion on animal cruelty on 31 March 2014, the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Michelle O’Neill initiated a Review of the Implementation of the Welfare of Animals Act (NI) 2011.  The Review is being carried out in conjunction with the Department of Justice.  An Interim Report has now been produced, which shows the progress of the Review to date, and sets out the emerging thinking and recommendations.

This consultation has been extended until 21 May 2015
